Interior Inspirations From Hong Kong Dining Establishments

Nest Property

Once you’ve settled into your new home, you’re no doubt looking to get out and about to explore the best of what the city has to offer. Not only do these beautifully designed restaurants and bars offer some of the best wining and dining in Hong Kong, they might just spark inspiration for interior designs at home.

A restaurant, cocktail bar and art gallery all in one, Duddell’s serves Cantonese cuisine with a modern flair. Designed by Ilse Crawford, the space boasts a stylish salon, private dining rooms, as well as a spacious rooftop, complete with an eclectic collection of artworks adorning the walls. Its weekend brunches feature free-flow dim sum, as well as crowd favourites like crispy pork ribs and steamed fried rice. And of course, it’s not a true Hong Kong brunch without champagne – choose from Veuve Clicquot or Krug.

Afternoon Tea

Taking up the 49th floor at boutique hotel Upper House, Cafe Gray Deluxe offers sweeping views of the harbour while also serving one of the best afternoon teas in town. There are classic nibbles – think scones and shortbread – as well as savouries like goat cheese and chive sandwiches. The space is decked out with high ceilings, dim lighting and plush velvet seating – be sure to grab a coveted windowside table.

Paying homage to Hong Kong’s past as a major shipping port for tea, The Envoy is an elegant space designed with a colonial-chic aesthetic. You’ll find wood-panelled walls, low-hanging chandeliers, modern furnishings and a vast outdoor terrace offering bustling street views. The Envoy offers unique cocktails created by famed local mixologist Antonio Lai, most of which feature tea as a key ingredient. Take the signature Dewdrops of the Heart, which consists of redistilled pandan vodka, pandan syrup, green tea and jasmine tea, carbonated in a Perlini shaker.

Located by Repulse Bay Beach, fine dining establishment The Ocean puts sustainable seafood on the forefront. Taking design cues from the sea, the sprawling space features decorative patterns inspired by waves and aquariums at every turn. On the menu, you’ll find imaginatively presented seasonal dishes like pan-seared black cod, mackerel tataki and salmon en croute.

Pan-Asian Cuisine

If you’re looking to wine and dine in a lush tropical setting, Spices should be top of your list. A Southside institution, Spices brings the best of Asian cuisine to Hong Kong, with a selection of dishes inspired by the flavours of Thailand, Vietnam and India. Sit back in the gorgeous alfresco space, and admire its panoramic beach views.

Best for Family

Not only does Zuma offer top-notch Japanese fare, the restaurant and bar is also known for its family-friendly setting on weekends. With your children comfortably settled in at the play area, tuck into a spread of sushi, sashimi and yakitori, alongside free-flow Perrier-Jouët and
