Hot New Bites to Try Out This November

Nest Property

With a new month comes new inspiration! Let’s explore the world of flavours that Hong Kong’s newest spots have to offer. Here’s a handful of restaurants that are well worth exploring this November.

Tribute to Bacchus, the menu stems first from the wines while the dishes, by consultant chef Laurent Varachaud and head chef Mickael Messina, have been created to complement the intricacies of each wine pairing. It bridges the culinary cultures of the East and West by elevating French classics with an Asian touch inspired by their chefs’ travels around Asia.

BACCHUS, 3/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, +852 3750 5200

Brooklyn Yakuza is a late-night restaurant serving Japanese-American ‘East meets West’ cuisine in a buzzing-izakaya atmosphere featuring a theatrical sake bar for guests to enjoy before, during and after their meals. The interactive tasting bar will feature a brilliant Sake list with outbursts of flavors, from fruity to floral, mellow to sophisticated umami, crisp to dry and perfect for the hybrid cuisine.

The Pirata Group stuns with the opening of The Sixteenth – a collection of four new restaurants, all found at one address in Quarry Bay’s Taikoo Place. With luxe interiors and fantastic Pirata Group hospitality, the whole experience feels almost like a private member’s club. Take your pick from Tempo Tempo, an outdoor terrace for aperitifs, cocktails and canapés; La Favourita, rustic Italian plates; Honjokko, like its Sheung Wan sibling, serves contemporary Japanese plates with a new sushi selection; and TMK Funk & Rolls, the latest music-driven edition of the TMK pack.

Kacho Fugetsu is a Japanese concept that means to discover yourself when experiencing nature, yoji-jukugo (四字熟語) that literally reads Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon. Their contemporary izakaya menu is anything but traditional – from premium jet-fresh sushi and sashimi to inspired cold and hot appetisers. Smoky ‘kushiyaki’ grilled vegetable, meat and seafood specialties. Japanese-style tapas, hot favourites such as tempura and ‘kamameshi’ kettle rice.

Sip & Slide, the sister restaurant to chicken joint Wingman. Specialises in gourmet mini burgers, or sliders if you will.  These little burgers pack a punch with big flavour, including Miso Sakana, Peking Quak, Texas Blu and Fantastic Mr Fungi.
