1. NARRATIVES IN BLOSSOMING VIGOR
Narratives in Blossoming Vigor draws on the relationship between the human form and nature in the work of five female contemporary painters. While the history of art’s entanglement with painting and the male gaze persists, these artists pursue the form taking historically female themes as their subject matter – flora, fauna, and the natural world. In so doing, their work becomes a vehicle for regrowth, identity and spirituality at a time when the symbol of botanical forms is quashed in lieu of technologically driven futures.

2. GENDER & SPACE
Gender & Space adopts a gender lens to revisit the history of our heritage site over its first hundred years from 1841 to 1941. It seeks to redress the underrepresentation of women in the gendered spaces of the Central Police Station compound by sharing the stories and experiences of those often overlooked to fill a gap in its history. This exhibition further explores the experiences of several different women in a society undergoing rapid change. It includes those who were unfree, powerless, and endured gender inequality, as well as those who sought avenues of change. The exhibition seeks to show that gender identity is complex, multilayered, and ever-changing.

3. YAYOI KUSAMA: 1945 TO NOW
Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now is the largest retrospective of the artist in Asia outside Japan. Featuring more than 200 works, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and archival material, this exhibition surveys Kusama’s career from the earliest drawings she made as a teenager during World War II to her most recent immersive art pieces. Organised chronologically and thematically, the retrospective guides visitors through Kusama’s career-long creative pouring divided into major themes: Infinity, Accumulation, Radical Connectivity, Biocosmic, Death, and Force of Life.

4. DIANE ARBUS: FIRST COMING
This will be the artist’s first solo presentation in Greater China, and it will follow the September–October 2022 exhibition Cataclysm: The 1972 Diane Arbus Retrospective Revisited at David Zwirner New York, which commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of Arbus’s momentous 1972 retrospective at The Museum of Modern Art, New York. The exhibition in Hong Kong will feature a range of the artist’s photographs spanning her brief but phenomenally influential fifteen-year career.

5. MARGAUX WILLIAMSON
Margaux Williamson’s first exhibition in Asia heralds a re-invigorated form of figuration. In paintings characterised by a sense of interiority and intimacy, Williamson explores how the visual markers of daily life can frame and refract experience. Devoid of protagonists, her subjects include domestic interiors, still lifes and nature close to home, which reveal, through an expressive rendering of the things around us, the strange within the familiar and the surreal within the banal.
