The Modern-Global Brooklyn Loft Of Wendy Simmons, Co-President of MOSCOT
Globetrotter and Co-President of MOSCOT eyewear, Wendy Simmons, invited us into her Brooklyn loft space that reflects the her eclectic style. Filled with furniture, tchotchkes and art from her global travels, her home, which is a converted schoolhouse, is a modern minimalist-meets-traveler’s dream.
The open-air loft space (she practices Muay Thai boxing here every morning!) is furnished with simple furniture — a sleek couch and lucite tables, which allows the pieces, collected on Simmons’ travels, shine. The staircase, which leads to a reading loft, is lined with shelves upon shelves of sculptures from Tibet, Bhutan and other Eastern locales. One of the few conventional pieces in the home is a dining table from Crate + Barrel that was purchased fifteen years ago however, Simmons had custom benches created to give the space a casual homey vibe. A vibrant painting, Mujeres Caribenas, by a Mexican artist, Enrique Diaz was found on a trip to Tulum and adds a bright pop of color to the neutral-toned home.
