New Hong Kong Additions To The Michelin Guide 2025
Michelin Guide Hong Kong’s February update adds nine new dining spots ahead of March’s official 17th edition, including popular Ankôma and the luxurious British establishment Magistracy Dining Room.
01. Ankôma

This stylish establishment features two distinct dining experiences: a counter with open kitchen views offering a 10-course Japanese-European fusion tasting menu, and a terrace serving premium steakhouse classics including Wagyu sandwich, caviar with blinis, and truffle fries. Highlights include the velvety butter-aged lobster cooked on lava stone and the shareable roast three-yellow chicken in vin jaune sauce (pre-order recommended).
Ankôma, 5F, Kam Lung Commercial Centre, 2 Hart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
02. Jee

A veteran Cantonese chef has collaborated with a Western-trained local chef to reinvent regional flavours through contemporary methods. Their 8 or 10-course tasting menu offers creative reinterpretations of Cantonese classics that consistently delight and surprise. Standout dishes include the aromatic crispy Silkie chicken with Moutai liquor sauce and the soft-shell turtle aspic that emphasizes the meat’s umami qualities and collagen richness. Consult the sommelier about Chinese alcohol pairings to enhance your dining experience.
Jee, 2F, 8 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, Hong Kong
03. Magistracy Dining Room

This historic former courthouse features a striking dining room with wood paneling and a high vaulted ceiling that exudes historical character. Large groups can reserve the semi-private table in the old public gallery, though the curved oxblood banquettes in the main room offer the premier seating experience. The distinctly British menu includes classics like roast beef, dressed crab, and soufflé Arnold Bennett. Don’t miss the confit potatoes, which draw inspiration from London’s Quality Chop House restaurant.
Magistracy Dining Room, GF, Central Magistracy, Tai Kwun, 1 Arbuthnot Road, Central, Hong Kong
04. Heartwarming (Prince Edward)

This shop prominently features two stone mills at the entrance continuously grinding black sesame seeds—a clear indication of their specialty. They’re renowned for their intensely flavoured, chewy black sesame rolls and various black sesame desserts including sweet soup, ice cream, and pudding.
Heartwarming (Prince Edward), 23 Yu Chau Street, Prince Edward, Hong Kong
05. Snack Baby

Strict vegans and those with lactose intolerance will love this gelato shop, offering 10+ dairy-free and animal-free flavours. The pistachio crunch, made with cashew milk, delivers a silky-smooth texture with delightful crunchy bits.
Snack Baby, 93-95 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong
06. Banana Boy

This popular spot, known since 2019 for its made-to-order banana roti with crispy exterior and soft filling, reopened in 2024 with an expanded menu featuring Nutella, Ovaltine, and pork floss with mozzarella options alongside new flavours. Be prepared to wait, as it consistently draws crowds.

07. Hung’s Delicacies

Chef Hung, with over 50 years of culinary experience, established this brand in 2003, relocating several times since. The restaurant specializes in Chiuchow cuisine, with a focus on marinated meats and offal. Their marinated goose stands out for its rich flavor and subtle seasoning. Chef Hung’s signature fried rice impresses with its distinctive wok hei, enhanced by goose meat, XO sauce, and sakura shrimps that create a complex, enticing depth of flavour.
Hung’s Delicacies, Shop B01, Lower Level, Tower 535, 535 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
08. Thai Pai Dong

This unassuming establishment lacks aesthetic appeal but compensates with authentic Thai street food that keeps customers coming back despite the minimal atmosphere. The drunkard fried noodles impress with complex textures, layered flavors, aromatic herbs, and perfectly charred ribbon noodles. The Wagyu boat noodles elevate a traditional dish by pairing premium beef with rich pork bone broth. Be prepared to wait in line.

09. Art & Taste

After What to Eat closed in 2024, one of its owners launched Art & Taste in the same location with the original kitchen team. They excel at Taiwanese classics and small plates. Their standout braised beef noodle soup offers a choice of ribs, tendon, shank, or a tendon-shank combination, with flavourful broth enhancing the springy noodles. The cheese and egg crêpe is another must-try dish.
