Must-See Art Expos in Hong Kong

Nest Property

Compelling exhibitions exploring heartbreak, mortality, ecological adaptation, and cultural symbolism. From multimedia installations to immersive dome experiences, these galleries present diverse perspectives through paintings, sculptures, and innovative contemporary works.

01. Waterfalls and Magpies

Spanish artist Nuria Mora examines how symbols like the magpie transcend cultural boundaries, representing bad omens in Western culture while symbolizing joy in Eastern traditions. This duality fascinated the artist as she explored how perspectives shape personal narratives through waterfalls reflecting multiple possibilities and recurring magpie imagery. The exhibition transforms fear into hope and chaos into renewal through compelling visual metaphors.

02. DOUBLE UMAMI

Local artists Lousy and David Leung celebrate Hong Kong’s yum cha tradition with distinctive personal interpretations at this duo exhibition. Street artist Lousy draws bold, primitive lines on order sheets recreating chaotic tea house scenes, while Leung transforms dim sum into Rorschach-like faces through symmetrical photography housed in authentic bamboo steamers. Created over two years of morning creative dialogue over tea and dim sum, this exhibition serves as a love letter to Hong Kong.

Thirteen artists from Hong Kong, London, Paris, Shanghai, and Chengdu explore heartbreak’s lingering ripples through multimedia works spanning paintings, sculptures, installations, and traditional crafts like porcelain and hair embroidery. Artists transform emotions into studies of time, loss, and memory within this compelling group show.
