Great Party Venues in Hong Kong

Hong Kong knows how to throw a party — and the city’s ever-evolving venue options means there’s no shortage of memorable spaces to mark any occasion. From rooftop bars and heritage buildings to private event studios and harbour cruises, here are some standout options to consider for your next celebration.

01. The Hideout

For those who prefer their celebrations with a side of serenity, The Hideout on Lantau Island offers a genuinely beautiful alternative to the typical party venue. Set amongst lush gardens overlooking a tranquil riverside pond, this peaceful retreat can accommodate private gatherings of up to 20 guests, making it ideal for intimate birthdays, creative workshops or wellness-led celebrations. A rotating programme of hands-on activities — including coffee roasting and painting workshops — gives groups something memorable to do together, all in one of Hong Kong’s most naturally stunning settings.

02. Aqua Luna

Believed to be one of the last handcrafted wooden Chinese junks ever built in Hong Kong, Aqua Luna is as iconic as party venues get. Recognisable by its striking red sails, this beautifully crafted vessel is available for private charter from a couple of hours to a full day, accommodating up to 80 guests across two decks — an air-conditioned cabin below and an open-air lounge deck above. Bespoke dining menus can be arranged through the chefs of Aqua and Hutong, spanning Italian, Japanese and Chinese cuisine, while the route itself can be tailored to sail past the harbour skyline, out to Lamma Island, Stanley or beyond. Whether it’s a corporate cocktail party, a milestone birthday or a wedding at sea, it’s an utterly unique Hong Kong experience.

03. SEVVA

A Hong Kong institution since 2008, SEVVA occupies the penthouse of the iconic Prince’s Building in Central and remains one of the city’s most glamorous settings for an adult celebration. The wrap-around terrace delivers uninterrupted 360-degree views of Victoria Harbour and the nightly light show, while the beautifully curated indoor lounges — including the art-lined Bankside room and the verdant 15-metre living wall lounge — offer equally impressive backdrops. Award-winning signature cocktails, quality tapas-style bites and an atmosphere of effortless sophistication make it a standout choice for birthdays, intimate gatherings or any occasion that calls for something genuinely special.

04. House Studio, Soho House Hong Kong

Situated on the first floor of Soho House Hong Kong in Sheung Wan, House Studio is a 2,500 square foot event space open to both members and non-members — a rarity for a private members’ club of this calibre. The elegant, light-filled interior features floor-to-ceiling windows, white walls, designer chandeliers and a sweeping round staircase at the entrance that sets the tone immediately. Ideal for parties of up to 220 standing guests, the space is also equipped with projectors, surround sound, a kitchen and a cloakroom, with bespoke food and drinks menus curated by the Soho House team available to complete the experience.

Perched on the 22nd floor of a Causeway Bay high-rise, Throw is a private bar venue with an ace up its sleeve — a sweeping 180-degree view of Victoria Harbour that makes it instantly memorable before the night has even begun. The 1,380 square foot space comfortably seats up to 40 guests and accommodates 60 standing, and comes loaded with entertainment options including karaoke, an electronic beer pong table with digital scoring, a stack cup game table, shisha and a full cocktail menu. With a BYOF policy, a buffet setup option and availability from 4pm all the way through to 6am, Throw is ideally suited for birthday parties, corporate nights out or any group celebration that doesn’t want to be constrained by last orders.
